The enemies-to-lovers heist with an ending everyone's talking about, winner of the Waterstones Children's Book Prize for Older Readers, 2024.
Soon to be a major movie and picked for Zoe Ball's Radio 2 Book Club.
For fans of Jennifer Lynn Barnes and Suzanne Collins.
This is one of the most popular series in S1: James Choke is recruited into the ranks of CHERUB - a secret organisation established during World War II, which trains children between ten and seventeen as spies. CHERUB agents live in the real world, slipping under the adult radar and collecting information that sends criminals and terrorists to jail - and for official purposes, these children do not exist.
The first book in Robert Muchamore's spectacular CHERUB series follows James through his gruelling basic training, and an undercover mission which sees him helping to foil a group of terrorists. Chilling, convincing and brilliantly-written, this adventure will grip readers from beginning to end.
A map of Scotland will be shared and we will find out where the books are set.
Our book talk includes four must-read books which have the power to hook everyone and... they open our minds to cultures beyond our own.
Classics are wonderful books that are unexpected, astonishing, and boundary-breaking and that’s why we are still reading them. If you want breakneck plots, or to glean knowledge of different cultures, or want to feel a creeping sense of dread or, just want a laugh, have a look at the classics on our shelves for your next read.
All are available to borrow and read and enjoy! Ask Mrs Toonen for guidance.

Books can play a huge role in tackling many sustainability and environmental issues. The right characters and stories can help explain these topics in a way that makes them accessible to our learners, helps them to understand how they can make a difference to the world, reconnects them with the world around them, and most importantly, empowers them to take action for their environments. You’re never too young to save the world!
There’s simply no doubt about it: nothing beats a good mystery.
No matter how old you are, crime fiction can hook you in, take you on a roller coaster ride and leave you desperate to find out what happens at the end.
We have fun, friendship, scares, thrills and all are great reads in our detective stories for November - with lots more to choose too - in the library.
Get reading and sleuthing!
