National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day was on Thursday 2 October and is a UK-wide celebration of poetry. We joined in with the celebrations, with a variety of activities and events:

Poems on Doors - a poem on each classroom door for all to read - read and enjoy.

Staff Poetry Competition 2025

IThis year's theme, for National Poetry Day was Play.

We enjoyed all the creativity, imagination and ideas from Team EA staff here.

Play with Poetry and celebrate all things playful. Poetry is nothing if not playful, because rooted in the imagination, poetry is simply playing with words.

The poems were judged by the Advanced Higher English class.

The winner was announced on National Poetry Day: 2 October.
