To this community reading project
The S4s are here!
The school has received a lovely card, together with a book voucher, from the family of Wilma McLean. Wilma was a resident in Anderson’s Care Home and was a reading friend in our Anderson’s Care Home Reading Project with librarian Shelagh Toonen and the team of senior pupils participating in the project.
We are very appreciative of both the card and of the voucher. The message is replicated here:
Dear Shelagh and Elgin Academy Reading Team and Zara, Arran and Stella (know she has moved on, but still...)
Wilma’s family can’t thank you enough for the difference you all made to Wilma’s life. Being included and being given the opportunity to connect with younger people is so important. Mum loved a chance for a blether, a newsing and a wee giggle.
Thank you all so much.
We hoped you could use this wee token and get something fun for the school library – and keep a wee memory of Wilma going.
Thank you all so much,
Eilidh McLean.
