On behalf of the Upchurch staff, we would like to thank you for a wonderful 2019-2020 school year! We appreciated the grace and flexibility as we partnered together during usual times this spring. We can't thank you enough parents!

Just a reminder that today is our Materials Exchange event in the building. Our motto is "Take a bag, leave a bag." Please follow sign up times and continue to practice social distancing. When you enter the building through the main doors, you can go directly into classrooms to take a bag prepared by your child's teacher, and leave a bag labeled with your child's first and last name in the same spot.

The end of the year brings many mixed emotions. We wish we could have said our goodbyes in a different way, but we are hopeful the new school year will bring everyone back together! You can expect the next Leaper Ledger in late July for back to school specifics.

In these unprecedented times, we want you to know that our primary focus is on the safety and security of our students and staff. If there are things we can do to support your family, reach out. Remote learning is about keeping our students connected and providing some continuity of learning. Feedback is our focus, not grades. We know that each family situation is unique and that everyone is doing all they can to participate in the ways that work for their family. We also know that people are curious about how this will look on a report card. Our elementary students at each grade level will get one of the following indicators in reading, writing, and math: exceeds expectations, meets expectations, or needs improvement. There will be no final grades for science, social studies, spelling, art, PE, or music. We are grateful for the support you are providing, and we understand that this is not easy. Please know that grades are not anyone’s primary focus in these times.
