Upchurch Elementary
Message from Mrs. Harrahill
Upchurch Families,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We hope you had a relaxing summer spending time with your loved ones. The return of students and staff is certainly an exciting time for our Upchurch community. The new school year brings new relationships, learning opportunities, individualized goals, and of course new memories with classmates and teachers.
If this is your first time receiving summer communications, please take the time to view the June Upchurch newsletter.
As a reminder, we look forward to seeing you at Open House on Thursday, August 8th from 6:00-7:00 PM. If you are unable to attend this evening event, we will welcome your child on the first day of school on Monday, August 12th.
Thank you in advance for your partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Harrahill
Upchurch Principal

Class Lists 2019-2020
Letters regarding your child's assigned homeroom teacher will be mailed on Friday, August 2nd.
Upchurch staff placed careful consideration into the process of assigning individual students with homeroom teachers.
First Day of School & Traffic
First Day Procedures
Staff members from each grade level will be outside at 8:15 AM on the first day of school. Students will gather with classmates by their assigned teacher's sign. Staff will escort students to their individual classrooms at 8:30 AM.
Traffic
The first few days are always a bit hectic, but the flow of traffic will improve.
As a friendly reminder, do not leave your car unattended on the curbside at any time. If you choose to park in the lot, you will need to accompany your child to the crosswalk.
Parents may be asked to move their vehicles if they are blocking designated traffic areas or if vehicles are left unoccupied in the driveway.
School personnel will be out in the parking lot to keep traffic moving and to promote safety. We appreciate your respect and cooperation as safety is our number one priority.
Kindergarten Parents: Optional "Tears and Cheers" Event
Kindergarten Parents/Guardian(s),
If your schedule allows some additional time on the first day of school, please join us for "Tears and Cheers" from 8:45-9:15 AM.
Please check into the office to show your I.D. and to grab your visitor's badge.
Mrs. Harrahill and Mrs. Wunderlich look forward to visiting with you during this event. If you are unable to attend, we will connect with you at another Upchurch family event soon.
