We are writing to you with heavy hearts. As you were informed on Thursday from our district, Governor Ricketts has announced that schools will be closed to students through May 31, 2020. Although our facilities will be closed, we will be learning remotely for the remainder of the school year.

There are many emotions that come along with our current reality. First and foremost, we know this is not easy. Between possibly juggling changes with work, to caring for a family, to adapting to a new online school partnership with our team at Upchurch, we know this comes with bumps and maybe some frustrations along the way. Please know, we are here to support all students and their families.

We have two weeks of remote learning under our belt, with many weeks ahead. Our Upchurch team will continue to enhance lessons and partner with families to make learning work in each unique home. We are in this together. Please do not hesitate to reach out to classroom teachers for clarification or if there are struggles with school work at home. Staff will be available from 8 am - 4 pm each day. Communication, flexibility, and patience with all parties will be the key to success.

We are anticipating that the route will take about 40 minutes to complete.

Our Teacher Librarian, Emily Mildenberger, is our go-to for technology. Please contact her at eamildenberger@mpsomaha.org if your child is having technology trouble. When you email Mrs. Mildenberger, please include your child's first and last name, teacher, a description of what the child is trying to do, a description of the problem, and a screenshot of the screen your child is stuck on. All of these factors will help Mrs. Mildenberger problem solve with you.
