Upchurch Elementary

A Message from Mrs. Harrahill

Upchurch Families,

Upchurch Elementary is always striving for excellence. The Nebraska education system has placed an emphasis on attendance through its accountability measures. Help your child be successful in school by building a habit of good attendance early! It's more than making up missed work. Overall success in school goes hand in hand with good attendance. Regular attendance helps students feel good about themselves and good about school. Being on time each day is also an important component to attendance. Teachers use the first half hour of the school day to set children up for success. They review class schedules, share important information, and hold Morning Meetings. In order to keep you informed, you may receive an attendance letter from Upchurch about your child's absences or tardies. As always, we appreciate when you call the office to let us know about an absence or late arrival. We will always make an effort to contact families when we do not receive a call and a child is recorded as absent. Instill the value that going to school, everyday, on time, is important!

Sincerely,

Lindsey Harrahill

Upchurch Principal
