First I’ll talk about the title, we named it change because I had the idea to make it go from a dark city to dark grass to show its better and then go into color and everything’s happy and great and alive. Now I’ll talk about the elements, first is line, we used line for the grass, we tried to make the grass very detailed and small, it hurt our hands very badly, next is value, we used value in the in the buildings and the road, as you can see in our drawing we put our sun at the top and where the sun first hit a building or the road and it was the brightest there and it would be shaded darker and darker to the last spot it could see, and the parts the sun couldn’t see that part would be dark. Also there is shape, shape was a hard one for us but we figured it out, we used shape in the tree the road rectangles and the flowers, for the tree we tried to make the trunk very rectangular and then for the leaves we made it dotted it as in we just poked it with a pencil for the flowers we added many different shapes on the top of the flowers and then we made the road rectangles, rectangles. Color, we used color in our whole drawing, from dark emptiness to very colorful flowers, sun, and sky. Now for space, we used space in the dark grass trying to make it a empty and dark feeling, and then it also looks empty. Texture, this was the hardest one for us because all of the things we were drawing didn’t really have texture, well they could have if they were bigger but all of was small except for the road so we made the road have texture, there are very cool cracks/mountains drawn into the road. The last one is form, most of our things could not be 3D except for the buildings of course, we tried to make the buildings very nice at the beginning and look pretty realistic but as we worked more and more we ran out of time so the rest of our buildings looked pretty bad and sloppy, and with that I conclude my artist statement, thank you for reading this and finding out everything you could know about our drawing
I don’t think this represents me other than how it looks, all I did was use a filter to to transform me I copied it onto my paper, so I don’t really know how that would represent me in other ways. My favorite part was drawing my eyes and nose because they looked super deformed and it’s super funny, but I also liked drawing the hair because it was cool to add the little details and all the shading. If I were to do this again I would try to get thing more on the dot, for example the little zipper was supposed to be on my face more and also change the eyes because the eyes just didn’t come out well no matter what I did, other than that I had lots of fun and thought this came out pretty well.
My favorite part was making the buildings, it was fun and quite cool. I saw a picture on Gunner’s IPad and I went off of that but I use the picture really, I saw it and then I just drew and I didn’t look at the picture at all when I was drawing. I would change all of the details I did, the words and extra things I drew I would change because I made them all look like you were looking at them from the front. I learned that getting the perspective right is really hard. I was really surprised in this art piece because I am not that good at art but I thought this one came out pretty nice. I just used my imagination and just drew random things that I thought would look good or be interesting.
My favorite part of this was the idea, I think it is a pretty cool idea, it is a beach with a dock but the dock is actually a xylophone and I think it fits in perfectly. My least favorite part was getting the right color and trying to keep the paint in the line, the sand was not the color I wanted it to be, it was too dark, then making the dock/xylophone tiles was really hard trying to make stuff even and keeping the paint in the lines, there are weird bumps everywhere on it. My inspiration for this was that I grew up be a beach and have always loved beach’s, and I thought a dock looks like a xylophone and that work out great. If I could change it I would try to make the blending better, get better colors, keep things in the lines and then I would try to make it look more realistic.
I chose to do a white weasel. Weasels like to eat mice and other small animals, and they like to live in forests. We started by cutting out the shape of the animal and then we put a stand in the center to start adding the 3D part, then we put up little thing onto the stand to make the curve of the body. Then we taped the whole thing, next we papier-mâché it so it is a clear outline of the body, and then we painted it to have the color and the looks of our animal. I had a couple challenges, first, its tail fell off, and then I also forgot my stand, and it might look like it is missing a leg but the back leg is laying down, and you can see the leg in real life
