We are working on a project about the first Americans. We are researching our region and will eventually build a model of their homes.
My goal for Humanities is to use other people’s advice on my work when they say I can improve on something because my work will probably be better.
In class we created these maps to show where the first Americans were in the world and where they went and we know that they went to these places because of the stuff they left and the people who researched this know how old the stuff is, so they know where the first Americans went. We had a world map on the computer and we drew lines on the map to show where they went in the world and we put what was found at these places.
One more little project was our first Americans research document. This was our research document for the first Americans slides. Here we put all of our research on the first Americans and then we made it sound better on our first Americans slides.
Another project we are working on is our first American slides. Each of my group partners and I had to put a slide a day on the google slides. We did many different slides for many different things like food, tools, weapons, homes, cloth, and more.
This project is being used in my exhibition. Along with my project we are going to build a place made out of cardboard and other stuff. We will put our slides on the place depending on where it should go.The place that me and my group are doing is the Great Basin.
We went to 3 different trails. Each were very different. The first one was on the first day when we got to set up our tents and get cozy. After that we on the trail. That trail I went on had a village that was pretty big, it took like a few hundred years to make and still was not done just the people building it gave up. Also on that day we had a great dinner and a bunch of free time and we roasted marshmellows and had a great time. The second day was great too. We had a good breakfast with hot chocolate and we had some free time. Then we went to the second trail I went on. It had many Kivas spread throughout the trail. The third one had many Petrogliphs. Then as we got farther in the trail we saw a really big house thing. I learned that there was a Kiva that showed north, east, west, and south in the perfect spots.
Our learning target was I understand how some of the first people to live in north america adapted to their climates and geography. I think I did the learning target.I did the Great Basin region for our project. my partners were Quinn Feeney and Liam Perdue. I met the standards for this project. I worked really hard on this project and made a few google slides a script and home model of their area. I learned many things while doing this project like that the people of the Great Basin believed that animals ruled the Earth and they made it and that they did everything humans could do like walk on two legs and many other things. I got a meets/exceeds for this part.
