Today I have invited Tyan Winters to my TPOL because she is really important to me and I live with her 50% percent of the time. She demonstrates respect to everybody, to her employees by helping them understand if something is going wrong or if they need help, also to her family by always making time to go to her children's events even when she is super busy and stressed because of their business, and she demonstrates respect to our family by always having us over for a fun time, making us food and taking us to a lot of things, and handling Cody and I even when we are being crazy with Gunner. She helps refine her business all the time by adding new things and changing parts for the better. She demonstrates integrity by doing the right thing like with her business even if she is already super stressed out by other things, and does the right thing when it comes to her kids and she is always honest to them and us. But most of all she puts in so much effort into so many things, she helps run an entire business and does so much stuff for it, she does so much for her kids and supports what they do and always drives them to their activities. Lastly she puts a lot of effort into having us over because Cody can be a lot to handle, I’m just kidding, but actually she always makes sure we’re comfortable, and happy, and will actually be taking us for a week in the first week of June so my Parents can go on a vacation and taking care of 2 kids is already enough but taking care of 5 kids is going to be crazy and I would like to thank you so much for taking us for that. I try to be like Tyan by trying to be able to do so much and still be kind to everybody around me.
My goal for integrity is to Hold others accountable.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing
my goal for Integrity is to tell people that what they are doing is wrong, like if they are playing games.
Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me reminding people to do the right thing.
The difference it will make is that people might start doing the right thing.
My goal for effort is to see failures and challenge them as an opportunity for growth
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing
my goal for Effort is when I make a mistake I don’t give up but I fix it and make it better.
Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me fixing my mistakes and seeing that my work is getting better.
The difference it will make is it will change me as a person and will teach me to not give up.
My goal for refinement is to actively seek feedback from others in order to revise my work.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing
my goal for Refinement is to ask for feedback from teachers and peers to see what I can do better.
Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me asking for feedback from people and making my work better.
The difference it will make is that my work will get very good and I will get a lot better at my work.
At the beginning of the year, I believed taking ownership meant just taking ownership for your mistakes and what you did wrong but, by the end of the year, I understood ownership to mean doing your part in anything like in sports, in chores, in group work and many more but also still including the taking ownership for your mistakes. I think I have taken ownership in my work a lot this year and done even more than my part, a good example of me having to take ownership was when we went to fiji, during that week that we were gone there was an exhibition, the kit carson mock trial and even though we were gone we had to do all of the work to get there, we worked really hard and did our part and even more with doing multiple parts in the work when we only had to do one part and we had to get it all done early and we did it and took ownership for our work and also during that because we missed the exhibition Cody and I had to do an entire separate project for our oral exhibition grade about the differences in Fiji's legal system, and The U.S.'s legal system and so we had to take ownership for being gone and do this project and we tried to make it our best. One more time I took ownership was during our rocket launch exhibition when I did a lot more than was needed too in words and extensions.
At the beginning of the year, I believed that being helpful meant providing assistance in any circumstance, whether it be emotional, physical, or mental. By the end of the year my definition of being helpful did not change. Being helpful is something that I just love to do, being helpful just makes me feel happy and better about myself, and like its been scientifically proven that being kind and helping produces the chemicals oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin and these chemicals help stabilize your mood/make you calmer, provides satisfaction and motivation, reduces inflammation and blood pressure, and provides feelings of euphoria which is extreme happiness. A good example of me being helpful is during our middle school mission trip with our church which I talked about in my impact part where Cody and I and many other people cleaned up bad houses and repainted them so some people could move into them. I also try to be helpful by checking on people when they look down, pick up more things than I need to, volunteer to help when asked, and help when something goes wrong.
My goal for respect is to consistently encourage others to listen with eyes and ears while teachers are talking or classmates are presenting.
This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing
my goal for respect is making sure everybody is listening and being respectful while others are presenting.
Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me telling people to listen and be respectful
The difference it will make is people will be more respectful to others.
I believe the purpose of this assignment was to was to teach us how to make a resume and to give us a head start on life because we are going to have job in the future of course and this helped us know how to make a resume to get a job. Now we know how to do all these important life skills even before we even needed them which will help a lot. Overall I got a meets on this project, this is because I worked hard and tried to include quite a bit of information.
