I have struggled on math for a while, and this year I finally got a meets on the test. I for once in my life understand something in math. So far this year, geometry has been my favorite because it might be something I want to do for a job in the future. It was helpful having and using tools on the test. It was also helpful doing delta math at home about the topic. So when I got to the test I knew what I was doing. I was focused in class, and did the work in my work book. So now I know that it is helpful to pay attention in class and do the workbooks.
In math I am in the 34th percentile. I tested in 5th grade math. I am in grade 4th grade algebraic thinking, 6th in numbers and equations, 6th in geometry, and 7th grade in measurement and data.
It is normal to drop around 20 points over the summer. And I feel like if I took the test again, but right now I would be college math. That's how much I feel I am learning.
My goal for math is to reach my stretch goal and place grade 8 for the mid year test.
I have been getting a lot of help from Mrs. Dunlop this year. And it has been showing, because I am slowly catching up on math. So hopefully I can get back to the grade level for high school.
#1 The main point in the video we watched in class was about how math is a skill, and nobody is born good at math, it's just a skill you have to learn.
#2 Mistakes are important in class because they help you grow. Some people don't learn from their mistakes, and make the same mistake over and over again..
#3 I don't like math but I care about my future and know that its important so I will try to learn as much as I can and be patient.
#4 I can improve my mindset this year by going in to class ready to learn and thinking about how this can improve my future.
