We are working on a project about geology including rock layers of our region. My goal for science is to take ownership and learn from others. I will do this by asking for more help in class.
This was a lab we did with food to show how tectonic plates shift with frosting and gram crackers. Showing how mountains form.
My location was the grand canyon we did it on google slides and each slide was a different fact about the grand canyon.
This is our first unit, the exhibition We are learning about all the different kinds of rocks and how they form.
I think that I have learned a lot about the southeast region and the rock layers in that area. I also think that I have learned a lot about presenting in front of people and not being scared about stuttering in front of them. I thought that it was really cool being able to see the rock layers under the people in the southeast. Our group did pretty well on the building part of the project because we had a group of creativity and wonder, and I think that it helped us get the project done quicker. One thing that I think that we could have worked on is making our board look more organized because we had a lot of glue sticking out and long moss. But other than that I think that we did pretty good.
Gravity one pager was for sharing facts.
I think that overall I presented pretty well. I feel like I was a little nervous talking, and I kind of stuttered a little at some times. I could improve on presenting with clarity, and confidence in keeping the audience engaged in what the topic is. I need to encourage the audience that space is awesome and tell them how gravity works. I need to engage the audience for the majority of the time I am speaking. Now that I look back I realized that I need to encourage more questions too. Overall I think that it is very helpful that I know all of this. Now I can use this information in the future.
Environmental Action Plan
For my environmental action plan, me and my partner Cody were trying to help save the ocean from pollution. We didn't end up raising any money, but it still gave me a different perspective.
