My goal: At the beginning of the year I set a goal to respect all of my teachers. By respecting my teachers, I feel like it could help me learn better in class. This year it was hard to respect some of my teachers because we didn't get along, but I will work on this more next year.
Respect: What respect means is that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they're different from you or you don't agree with what they have to say.
How I show Respect outside of school I use respect by being kind to everyone and standing up for people when my friends are mean.
Integrity: At the beginning of the year I set a goal for integrity. My goal was to always set the example and be a leader. I did a great job on this goal. One example is because my friends were making fun of a lot of kids this year and every time they would see the discussed look on my face. What this meant is that I didn't like what they were doing so they eventually realized it was the wrong thing.
Integrity: Integrity is a big habit of heart and mind at this school. What integrity means to me, is being a leader for others. When I do something bad it makes people that look up to me want to follow my lead, and if I do something good it makes them want to do something good.
How I show Integrity outside of school
One way that I showed integrity outside school was when I was selling my downhill mountain bike and I told the people that were trying to buy it that It wasn't the best purchase for what they were looking for. If they bought the bike, I know that they would have regretted it. And I wouldn’t want that to happen to me, so I told them it wasn't the best idea.
Effort: At the beginning of the year I set a goal for effort. The goal was to always put my best foot forward in every assignment. I have done a great job on this goal because of how many paper projects we had this year. I got way better at focusing on the assignment.
Effort: I demonstrate effort by actively learning, and trying whatever I can to get the most out of the lesson.
I show effort by working out at home and getting stronger for football season. My goal starting now, is to get at least 200 shots up a day. Obviously this goal will be hard because of me having so much going on this summer. But I will try to at least work on my ball handling.
How I showed Effort outside of school
I use effort by finding ways to make money around the house, and working on my bike and basketball skills. My goal is to play varsity basketball in high school, and I feel that if I keep pushing myself I can make it.
Refinement: At the beginning of the year my goal for refinement was to always improve my work whenever I can. I could also work on this a little more next year, as well as my time managment skills.
Refinement: I demonstrate refinement by constantly improving my work, and slowly finding ways to improve. It can be hard when you are rushed to get something done, and still need to refine your work, and I can clearly tell that it is something I need to work on.
How I show Refinement outside of school
I use refinement outside of school when I work on my basketball skills. For the past 2 to 3 years I have really tried to work on my basketball skills, and I have noticed great improvement.
