The Video-based Learning (VBL) Framework is a learning design guide written from the perspective of what students should be doing to learn.
The Video Selection Guide helps teachers make good video choices by offering a clear set of considerations for professional discussions and decision-making.
The Sample Annotated Lesson Outline illustrates how the VBL framework can be used to create student-centric technology-enabled learning experiences.
Designing the video-based questioning task was not as easy as I expected. Finding suitable videos was a real challenge, as we tried to strike a balance between engagement and educational value. Generating stimulating yet focused questions that would be relevant to the students was something that really brought out our creativity. It took some time before the team arrived at a satisfactory set of questions, but all our efforts were worth it when I saw the richness of students' response, and heard them share how much they enjoyed the learning task.
