Hi there!
My name is Amanda Chan. Let me take you through my Springfield Journey and the different experiences here at Springfield in 2022.
One of my principles in life is the quote 'Carpe Diem', which means 'to seize the day'. I believe one should live every day like it is your last and make the most of it.
Springfield has really given me opportunities in different aspects of my student life, like CCA, Service Learning, Student Leadership, and more.
Springfield has given me plenty of opportunities to engage in learning outside of the classroom. Our Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) were also really helpful for us to learn during the pandemic. With our PLDs, we are now more exposed to different ways of learning.
I was first nominated as the class chairperson in Secondary 2. This was my first leadership position and one where I learned many valuable life skills, such as leading with responsibility, crafting a targeted message, and gaining confidence in public speaking.
These were instrumental in helping me run for the position of President of the Student Council, win the elections and run a successful term.
OUTDOOR PURSUITS CLUB (OPC)
I have come a long way from someone who could only climb a warm-up route in Secondary 1. Fast forward 3 years, and I am now the Climbing Master for OPC and working towards my goal of representing my country and competing in the Olympics.
