The graduands of 2022 congregated in the hall with excitement for their final journey in their secondary school life.
The celebration started with the principal’s address. Mrs Leong highlighted the lessons learnt from the pandemic and congratulated the class of 2022 for having risen up to the challenges. She quoted Minister of Education, Mr Chan Chun Sing who stated the four areas that the nation needs to focus on: Energy and sustainability, Biopharma and Medicine, Urban Sustenance, Digital Information. She ended her speech by congratulating the cohort on having successfully completed this journey.
A representative from each class recited the speech on behalf of the class, reminiscing about their experiences and were thankful to the teachers and the support they had received from the school.
FOUR Years walk down Memory Lane
Reminiscing the past
Jovn Setiawan Jaya, Sec4G
It feels very sentimental. It really just felt like I joined Secondary 1 like last year and now I’m graduating. It is very sad to know as it has been a habit to wake up every day early in the morning and getting ready for lessons and now it just ends here. It just stops. That to me is what breaks my heart the most; to not see the people I saw every day. But I guess every journey has its end and a door to a new journey will start soon right after. I know this will not be the last time I will ever see my friends ever again as there is still results day. This graduation just really just allows me to reminisce about my secondary school life since Secondary 1 and to cherish those memories. Some advice for next year’s O’ level batch: do not be discouraged by your prelim exam results as it is just a gauge and you can still work hard from there. Please cherish the memories and keep your friends close to you. May your sec 4 journey be filled with fun and hardship and may you all endure it together as a class.
Time passes in a blink of an eye

It felt like it was just a few days ago when we’ve just joined Springfield and now, we’re here as graduating students. Although there were times where we did not look forward to school, it still feels unreal that we do not have to attend school in Springfield anymore. What breaks our hearts is that the most is that we’re only leaving school with our fond memories and our continuous struggles. This graduation ceremony made us realised that time goes by very fast and that we should all appreciate every moment we experience. Some advice for the next graduating batch not to think that four years is a long time as it goes by very fast. So do learn to cherish every moment and people around you. Also, do keep your focus on your studies earlier so that you won’t have to struggle when you move on to secondary 4.
Staying Resilient
Muhammad Iskandar Bin Naszri and Muhammad Afiq Bin Mohamad Andy, Sec 4D
We feel happy that we joined Springfield Secondary School in 2019 and we think Springfield is a safe place for us. We obviously have challenges that we have managed to overcome. We stayed strong during the pandemic and lost all the fun activities. During these past four years, we learnt to bond with one another as a class. We now need to stay focus for our national exams. To the next graduating cohort, Please try your best in your national exams and all the best!

“Springfield Values”
I feel very honoured to be receiving this award. My journey in Springfield has its ups and downs but despite these challenges, I did not give up. I believe that the Springfield Values have brought me to where I am today. There is no short cut or magic pill if you want to succeed unless you work hard towards what you aim for and always think positively.
Outstanding Student Award – Sec 4 Normal Technical
Chuan Teck Yi, Sec 4D
“Teachers, Family and Friends”
I feel very excited and proud to receive this award. In these four years, I have learnt many things from my peers and teachers. This year is especially stressful because I am taking my N’ level. I struggled but was able to pull through because I have my friends and teachers who supported and encouraged me in different ways. Success is a collaborative effort. You need your friends, teachers and family to support and encourage you.
Outstanding Student Award – Sec 4 Express / 5 Normal Academic
Aniq Sufirizan Bin Fariq, Sec 5A
“Consistent Hard Work”
I feel very honoured to be able to receive this award. I have never thought of being able to achieve this award in my five years of secondary school so receiving this award means the world to me. My secret to success is that I have been constantly paying attention in class and have been working very hard consistently along with the mind-set of never ever giving up. Furthermore, having your friends who constantly motivates you to achieve success.
Springfield Students Show Gratitude
Our graduands demonstrated their gratitude to principal Mrs Mabel’s Leong’s contributions to the school with a placard filled with well-wishes as she retires this year. We wish both students and principal all the best as they embark on their new paths in life.
