Embracing Diversity – “Our cultural Heritage”
It was a week-long celebration where students of all races congregated to learn, be aware and celebrate their different ethnic race.
What does racial harmony mean to you?

To me, it means that we should not be judgmental and racist. We have to learn about other cultures and religions.

Moulding ethnic food
During their History classes, the Secondary 1’s researched into our local food heritage. They then created 3D ethnic food models out of plasticine. For Cady Ang of Sec 1C, the lessons were “fun as I had to make snacks like curry puff during lessons. I was also able to find out the origins and how it became a part of the local culture.”
Wearing ethnic clothes
It was a sea of colourful clothes as many students donned ethnic clothes. Many came in cheongsam, Malay traditional clothes and Indian attire. For Nazatul Arianna Binte Muhammed Zaky of Sec 2F said, “It was fun wearing all the clothes. We get to appreciate one another’s culture.”
A riveting performance
The school was treated to a special performance by Guinness World Record holders, “Rhythm Masala.” It was a culmination of the week-long celebrations. The group shared about the different ethnic drums and gave an enthralling performance. Both students and teachers were invited on stage to participate in the event. Said Janelle Chew of Sec 2B, “It was so fun and entertaining yet we learnt about the origins of the drums of the different races. “ Many students enjoyed the performance and as Rianna Sarafina Binte Muhammad Riduan of Sec 1C commented, “It was simply entertaining.”
