In the afternoon of 22nd Aug, our NPCC cadets carried their Anti-Scam message beyond the school gates! Together with the officers from SPF Bukit Batok NPC, the cadets engaged residents around Bukit Batok, sharing tips on how to spot common scams and how to protect their hard-earned savings. This collaboration not only strengthened ties between our youth and the police, but also empowered the community to stay vigilant and look out for one another.

A big salute to our cadets for stepping up with confidence and care, showing that everyone — young or old — plays a part in keeping our neighbourhood safe! 💙

On 12th July, our Secondary 1 cadets took part in their first ever sectorised training held at Swiss Cottage Secondary School. This milestone event was extra meaningful as it marked their Swearing-In Ceremony, officially welcoming them into the NPCC family. 🫡✨

Beyond the ceremony, the cadets enjoyed a fun-filled Games Day, where they bonded with fellow cadets from other schools. Through teamwork, friendly competition, and shared experiences, they built new friendships while learning the importance of camaraderie and cooperation.

It was an exciting start to their NPCC journey, and we are proud of our Sec 1s for embracing this new chapter with enthusiasm and spirit. Here’s to many more opportunities to grow, learn, and serve together! 💙

We kicked off Term 3 with one of the most significant milestones in every cadet’s NPCC journey – the Promotion Ceremony.

On 23rd July, an impressive 92.2% of Hillgrove NPCC cadets were officially promoted to the ranks of Lance Corporal (LCP), Corporal (CPL), and Sergeant (SGT)!

👏 A big congratulations to all our newly promoted cadets! Your hard work in completing projects and badgework, active participation in parades, and unwavering commitment to the integrity of the unit have truly paid off. This achievement reflects not just your effort, but also your growth as disciplined and responsible cadets.

For those who were not promoted this round, remember — this is not the end of your journey. There will be a second chance in November, and with perseverance and commitment, you too can move forward with your peers.

Let’s continue striving together as one unit, upholding the NPCC spirit of discipline, resilience, and service.

On 13th May, our Secondary 1 cadets officially kicked off their Police Procedures badgework — an essential part of their NPCC learning journey. The session introduced them to the fundamentals of police work, equipping them with knowledge about procedures, responsibilities, and the role of the police in maintaining law and order.

To wrap up the session, the cadets showcased their learning through presentations, confidently sharing key takeaways with their peers. This not only reinforced their understanding, but also built communication and teamwork skills.

On 3rd May, four of our dedicated Hillgrove NPCC cadets and cadet leaders proudly represented our unit at the National Police Parade, a prestigious event that recognises the spirit of service and discipline in the police force and its youth partners.

On 16th April, during Hillgrove’s annual Speech Day, our NPCC unit proudly witnessed several of our cadets being recognised for their outstanding achievements.

Two of our fine cadets, SSGT Rebecca and SSGT Farhan, were each awarded the prestigious Colours Award (Individuals) — a testament to their dedication, discipline, and leadership in NPCC. Leading the unit with pride, SSGT Rebecca also received the Team Colours Award, in recognition of our unit’s Distinction in UOPA 2024.

Adding to the celebration, our senior cadet instructors, SI Bryce and SI Crystal, were honoured with the All Round Excellence Award and the Model Hillgrovian Award respectively. These awards reflect their commitment not only to NPCC, but also to the wider school community.

We are incredibly proud of our NPCC cadets for achieving the highest accolades in their respective fields. Their hard work, resilience, and service continue to inspire the unit and set the standard for future generations of cadets. 💙💪

On 26th April, our Secondary 1 cadets experienced their very first Unit Camp, organised and led by their seniors from the 22nd HGNP. It was a day filled with learning, bonding, and laughter as the Sec 1s got a taste of what NPCC life is truly about.

The camp programme was packed with exciting activities. Cadets tested their teamwork and problem-solving skills through the Crime Scene game, unleashed their energy in ball games, and ended the night with an improvised indoor campfire that created lasting memories. Along the way, they also took on other fun challenges that built resilience and camaraderie.

A highlight of the camp was the recognition of outstanding cadets who stood out for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and spirit. Congratulations to our newly minted Sec 1s — Cadet Nabil, awarded Best Camper Male, and Cadet Nur Aliah, awarded Best Camper Female. Both exemplified the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork throughout the camp.
