Daphnis nerii
This moth is also known as the Army Green Moth. The adult has a stout bullet-shaped body with long, narrow forewings and shorter hindwings.
It contributes to the pollination of the flowers of the papaya plant.
The bright green larvae of this moth were discovered in the school garden on 19 Sept 2023. One particular caterpillar was cared for separately until it became a pupa on 28 Sept 2023 (see pics of larva and pupa below). Subsequently, the adult moth emerged on 5 Oct 2023.
