This Black Bittern bird was discovered within the school grounds on 14 Oct 2022. It was a surprise visitor indeed.

It had black upperparts, whitish throat and breast with dense dark streaks and yellow neck-patch.

It seemed to be injured as it was not able to fly.

We alerted NParks and an officer came down to rescue the bird and give it medical attention.

It was a great opportunity for some of the students to have sighted this bird indeed.
