Red Dwarf Honeybee

This is the most common bee in Singapore. The honey bees are social insects that form large colonies. They are docile and safe when foraging at flowers away from their nest.
The first few segments of the abdomen are slightly red, hence the term, Red Dwarf Honeybee.

The beautiful Red Dwarf Honeybee feeding on the nectar from the flowers on the Chinese Chives vegetables. The flowers attract pollinators like bees and butterflies.
