Good morning everyone!

It’s Malaysia’s birthday soon on August 31!

As the nation prepares to celebrate its 64th year of independence, let's learn some interesting facts on this wonderfully diverse country!

Have you ever seen this flag before??

I am sure you do and recognize this.

This Malaysian flag has its own uniqueness.

  1. it is made up of 14 stripes alternating between red and white. These stripes called Jalur Gemilang (‘Stripes of Glory’) and are all of equal width to signify the equal status between its 13 states and the Malaysian Federal Government.

  2. The 14-pointed star is known as the Bintang Persekutuan (Federal Star) and it is a symbol of the unity between Malaysia’s states and Federal Government.

  3. The crescent moon is a prominent symbol of Islam, the national religion of Malaysia.

  4. The yellow colour on the flag reflects the royal colour of Malay rulers while the blue colour stands for the unity of the Malay people.

Do you understand the statement above. I bet its hard for you digest the information above, but its good for you to read and enrich your vocabularies.
