UBA is one of the most successful and effective programs rolled out by the Government of India for the development of rural India. Under this program Institutes are encouraged to adopt 5 villages from the neighbourhood and run developmental projects for the overall development of those villages. MITE as an institute has adopted the following 5 villages under UBA program and has effectively run several projects

MBA students do take active part in organising programs under UBA and this experience helps them to shape up as better managers. There is a great deal of Management learning involved in Planning and implementing developmental projects for the villagers.
Some of the important projects conducted so far are:
Mega survey of households of all the 5 UBA villages and submission of reports to the GOI.
Conducting Health camps in these villages in collaboration with Rotary Club, Karkala and TMA Pai community hospital, Karkala.
MBA students who participated in UBA activities cherish those moments as life-time best experiences.

2022-23
On 17 th May 2023, MITE UBA organised third free medical camp at Paladka village of Dakshina Kannada district. Primary Health Centre, Paladka, the Panchayath office of Paladka, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala and the Rotary club – Karkala Rock City were the joint organisers of this camp. MITE UBA organises this type of camps to develop the social responsibility among students and to inculcate the organising skills among UBA members.
On 13th April 2023 MITE UBA in association with Health and Wellness centre, Kanthavara and the Kanthavara Grama Panchayath had organised a one-day free medical camp at Health and Wellness centre, Kanthavara. Dr TMA Pai Hospital Karkala and the Rotary Club Karkala joined their hands by arranging Doctors and Nurses team from KMC hospital, Manipal. The purpose of the camp was to provide free Eye and Heart check up facility for the villagers of Kanthavara village at Karkala Taluk.
Due to the scarcity of blood in the supply chain and blood banks, Manipal Group of Hospital had called for an emergency blood donation camp. On 11th June, 2023, Dr T M A Pai Rotary Hospital a sister concern of the Manipal Group of Hospitals and MITE UBA & Youth Red Cross jointly organised one day blood donation camp at T MA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala.
2021-22
MITE UBA in collaboration with Milk producers cooperative society, Kanthavara and TMA Pai Hospital Karkala conducted a free medical and eye camp at Belady School Kanthavara . 85 Participants got treated and two of them were later got free eye surgery service from TMA Pai Hospital. MITE UBA members volunteered and organised the event successfully. Camp was well appreciated by the villagers ,school teachers and Kanthavara panchayath officials.
Dr. TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala organized one day free Medical on 14.03.2021. Due to COVID pandemic, the stock of blood in the blood banks are not sufficient, hence, the Manipal blood bank requested the MITE Youth Red Cross to take part in the blood donation camp. The camp was held at hospital venue. 12 members of MITE Youth Red Cross, 2 alumnus of MITE MBA, 3 faculty of MITE MBA took part in the blood donation camp. The contribution of MITE Youth Red Cross in the camp was well appreciated by the hospital admin Mr. Natesh Kumar.
MITE UBA members join hands with Akshaya Patra, Mangalore to distribute the Happiness Kit to the kids of Government Primary School, Kallamundkur. 105 students of the school got the benefits of this happiness kit. Health grocery items like Dhal, Ground nuts, Edible oil, Wheat atta, Biscuits and stationary items were given in the kit. School head Mistress and School Developement Committee president appreciated the effort of MITE in connecting Akshaya Patra to their school.
MITE UBA in collaboration with Rotary Club Karkala and TMA Pai Hospital Karkala conducted a free medical and eye camp at Paladka. 128 patients got treated and 3 of them were later provided free eye surgery by TMA Pai Hospital. Students of MBA volunteered and organised this event successfully.
In the second round of Village survey 100 students of MBA covered 600 households on a door-to-door household survey and collected data under Unnat Bharath Abhiyan on the living conditions of villagers. More than a hundred MBA students enjoyed this unique learning experience.
MITE UBA in collaboration with Rotary Club Karkala and TMA Pai Hospital Karkala conducted a free medical and eye camp at Sooda. 92 patients got treated and 2 of them were later provided free eye surgery by TMA Pai Hospital. Free eye checkup, Blood pressure checkup, Diabetic checkup and ECG service was provided in the programme. Students of MBA volunteered and organised this event successfully.
More than a hundred student volunteers of MITE MBA went home to home to .... households in 3 UBA villages viz Kalmandkur, Belvai and Paladka. They administered te UBA questionnaire and collected basic data about living conditions of these villagers. Reports were later uploaded onto UBA portal. For MBA students it as been a great learning and enjoyable experience.
