For those students who are interested in developing scientific temper and research skills, there is a Research Club at MITE MBA. Interested students can join this Club and carry out research in management. This leads to student publications and student projects. Under the able guidance of our faculty members our students have written several scientific papers and presented them in outside seminars as well. Quite a few KSCST (Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology) sponsored projects also have been carried out by our students. Invited lectures are arranged for the benefit of students to learn techniques in data Analysis.

A webinar was organised by MITE-MBA research club on the topic Chi-Square test in SPSS. Dr. Lokesha, Assistant Professor in the department of commerce from GGFC Punjalkatte was resource person for the program. Prof Lokesha spoke about hypothesis testing process and he presented the process of running chi-square and other test in SPSS package.
A training session was conducted by the Research Club for the interested students on how to use SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for research in Management. Dr Lokesh fro GFGC Punjalakatte conducted this program and it enlightened many research enthusiasts at MITE.

Students of MBA at MITE were awarded 2 KSCST research projects during the academic year 2019-20. Each project comes with a grant of Rs 5,000. (MITE MBA had also bagged 2 projects in the previous year from KSCST)

R project titled "Designing Sustainable Marketing Strategies For the Bio gas (Methane) Extracted from Organic Biodegradable Waste for the Rural Population of India".
Project 2: Darshan MB, Arun Kumar K.N, Vaishnavi and Chaithanya NM, students of fourth semester MBA under the guidance of Prof. K Abhaya Kumar, project titled " A study on Opportunities and Challenges to Commercialise Biodegradable Products in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts of Karnataka".
A funded Market research project was carried out by the students of MITE for Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). This involved visiting more than 500 households across Mangalore, Suratkal and Udupi towns. Students. Students planned and carried out this research work diligently and submitted report to IIMA. This was a great learning experience!
On 18th September 2018, MBA–Research club was inaugurated by Dr. Manjunath, Chief Librarian- T. A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal. The Chief Guest, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Dean Research-MITE spoke about the Scope for Research in Management Education. Dr. Manjunath, in his Inaugural address spoke about Research in Business Schools in general and about various Management literature databases in particular. He invited students and faculty members of MITE – MBA to TAPMI for good research collaborations.
Research club of MBA organized a special talk on statistical tools and provided hands-on learning ofSPSS computer package on 5th November 2018. The Guest Speaker, Dr. Lokesha, Assisstant Professor – GFGC, Punjalkatte spoke about various parametric and non-parametric tests used in management research. Students were trained on the usage of SPSS for data analysis in management research. Data importing, data entry, variables management and appropriate usage of each test were discussed in detail during the session.
