Marketing being one of the major specialisations of our MBA students and that being the most vibrant fields of management today, our students need to hone their skills in marketing management. Marketing Club offers ample opportunities for the enthusiasts to join together and chalk out their own programs. One of the most popular events of the campus is the CASE STUDY COMPETITION held for the students in Marketing Courses under the guidance of Prof Balasubramanian. Besides, the Club organises various guest lectures, Panel discussions etc to enrich their Marketing experience at MITE
2023-24
A Collage-making competition was organised by the Marketing Club to test the artistic skills of the participants on 8th February 2024 for the II-Year MBA students. Total of 12 teams participated in the competition. Each team was given a topic on which they were supposed to do a collage and present it to the judges. The topics were related to logistics and supply chain management which is the present booming sector. All the teams actively participated in this event and showcased their talent. Three prizes were decided by the jury members.
The Marketing Club of the Department of MBA organised a Product Launch Competition for the II-year MBA Students. A total of 6 teams comprising 8 members actively participated in the event. Teams had to use audio-visual equipment and use Marketing concepts to launch their product. Jury members asked questions to the participants to test their understanding of the concepts. Three teams were awarded prizes for their outstanding effort.
2022-23
On 2nd February 2023, a product launch competition was conducted by the Marketing Club for the 2nd year students. 8 teams participated in the competition. All the teams used their learnings of the Marketing concepts to launch a product in the market. Every team used audio-visual tools and role plays to promote their product. Using 4Ps and Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning, the product launch was done. Students had all the fun in addition to the conceptual learning while preparing for the competition.
Department of Management Studies of MITE organised a Guest Talk on Business to Business to Marketing. The speaker was Prof. Venkatesh Amin, Ex-Area Manager - Castrol India Ltd. He discussed about the differences between the B2B and B2B sales. He also explained about the huge demand and potential for B2B market to expand in India. He said that the application of E-Commerce in B2B has transformed the market. He clarified many queries raised by the enthusiastic participants.
2021-22
The Marketing Club conducted Services Marketing Case study competition for the II year MBA students. All the student participated in the 1st round and 11 students were qualified for the finals. Students enjoyed making presentions on various services marketing cases like McDonalds, OYO Rooms, Byjus. Ms. Dhanya, Ms. Joylyn and Ms. Suraksha bagged the top three prices respectively.
Dr. V. Joseph visited the Department of Management Studies and delivered a talk on Artificial Intelligence and its application in Management as an Emerging exponential technology. He said that future business leaders have to be adept at using these technologies to stay ahead in the business. He introduced students to other emerging technologies like blockchain, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and their applications in business.
The Marketing Club of the Department of Management Studies conducted a guest talk about "Marketing in Corporates". The speaker was Mr. Abhijith Karkera - Team Lead, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd. He introduced various sales strategies adopted by beverage industries in India. He informed in his talk that the sales process has to be firmly followed by the sales team. Students were delighted to listen and learn from a practicing salesperson.
2020-21
Mr. Ananth Tantry, Regional Sales Manager - Robert Bosch Middle East FZE delivered a webinar to the students of MBA on Practical approach to sales process.. He spoke about understanding the needs of their clients better can make a big difference in the Value proposition that is offered to the clients. this strategy also helps in getting a premium price from their clients. Students clarified all their queries at the end of the session with Mr. Tantry.
The Marketing Club organised a webinar about the Global E-commerce strategy at IKEA. The speak Mr. Sai Krishnamurthy - Product specialist at IKEA spoke to MBA students about the process of technology product overview like the discovery phase, delivery phase, and the activity phase. He explained about the product team, product organization, and product manager. The talk was well received by the students and many queries were clarified at the end of the session.
The Marketing Management case study competition was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Jayadeva Prasad M, HOD, Department of MBA, and Prof. Ramaswamy Balasubramaniam and faculty members. 12 students qualified for the finals. Mr Puneeth D V’s presentation on Ather Energy won first place in the competition. Mr. Pratheek Shetty for the case ITC won second place and Ms.Shalini Hegde secured third place for the case KMF. Winners were awarded by HOD-Prof.Jayadeva Prasad.
Mr. Bharath HS - Senior Business Development Associate at Unacademy and also an alumnus of MITE presented a webinar about selling in the Edutech domain. He demystified the selling process followed in leading tech companies. He informed the students that each sales profession is different from others and that different techniques are followed in different industries. Students enjoyed learning from their senior and a successful sales professional.
Ms. Kalpitha, Accounts Manager at Zomato delivered a webinar at MITE. She explained about her experiences at Zomato and the execution of Services Marketing at Zomato. Ms. Kalpitha introduced major players in the market and spoke about the facilities Zomato provides and how they establish relationships with their customers. The Speaker spoke about the opportunities in this field of services marketing where one can nurture their skills and experience to grow, further, she also added some tips to the listeners.

Health Care Industry is one of the fastest-growing services industries in India. Marketing Club organised a webinar by Mr. Sudhindra Bhat - Head of Sales & Marketing, Columbia Asia Referral Hospitals, on Marketing in the healthcare industry. The talk gave exposure to the students about the sales activities in the healthcare industry.
On 15 July 2020, the MITE Marketing Club organised an online panel discussion on COVID-19 OUT-TURN. A brief introduction about each panelist was made by the moderator. The panelists spoke on different themes like effects of COVID-19 on the economy, the consequences of Coronavirus on the employment Sector, the impact of Coronavirus disease on the education sector, the effects of COVID-19 on the transportation sector, the outcome of COVID-19 on the automobile Industry.
2019-20
Members of the Marketing club of MITE-MBA conducted an interactive online panel discussion about "China or India." Students discussed about the current topic of India-China trade, existing situation, marketing strategy of China, alternatives to China. Panel discussion concluded with the Q&A session where panel members answered to the questions from the students about the topic.
Marketing club of MITE-MBA organised a webinar on "Practical approach to sales process" Students learnt the practical application of the sales process in the Industry and selling models globally followed in multinational organizations. Students interacted with the speakers and clarified their doubts. They spoke about the major cultural differences in the selling styles in India and the Middle East. They enquired about the career prospects for a sales professional.
Digital marketing is the future of marketing. Realizing this Marketing club of MITE-MBA organized a workshop on "search engine optimization"
Mr. Venkatesha Bhat, CEO of Webtree Media solutions, Bahrain, introduced the concept of digital marketing and also a hands on training was provided to students to familiarize them about this buzzing concept.
Construction and real estate industry is one of the growing industries and attracts huge investments. Elevators are the key drivers of the construction industry and a highly competitive industry. Mr. Jagannath Kamath, M.D of M/S. Sidvin Elevators, Bangalore, addressed the students of MBA. He conceptualized the selling process and sales management in the elevator industry. The talk ignited the selling instinct in minds of the students.
Students actively took part in the Services Marketing case study competition and presented various marketing cases. Best presentations were selected and trophies were distributed. Students gained lot of confidence presenting on the stage and improved their public communication skill.
Under the guidance of Prof. Jayadeva Prasad M, HOD, Deapartment of MBA and Prof. Ram Balasubramanian, twenty-four students participated in the Case Study Presentation Competition on 25th April, 2019. Mr. Mohammed Farhan and Mr. Sharaz, alumni of the institution, graced the occasion as judges of the competition. All the finalists participated enthusiastically and sportively in the competition. They were asked several questions about strategies and marketing of their case and were appreciated for the presentations.
Ms. Christina Baretto bagged the first prize for the case Amazon, Mr. Jyeshtaraja Joisa won second place for the case Titan and Mr. Bipin Thomas secured third place for the case Walmart.
Marketing Management Case Study Presentation Competition was organized on 18th and 19th January 2019 for the students of I-year MBA with an objective of developing case analysis and presentation skills. Ms. Jovitha Lisa Pinto with a case on Lakme won first place, Ms. Chaithra Kini for the case Amul won second place and Mr. Jovan Adal Aroza secured third place for the case on Pulse Candy. Winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates by the Principal, Dr. G.L. Eswara Prasad, and Prof. Ram Balasubramanian, Senior Faculty.
A Guest Lecture on Indian Pharmaceuticals was organized for MBA students. Mr. Ronald Mascarenhas, a successful human resource professional with over 26 years of comprehensive experience spoke about the Indian pharmaceutical industry and also about the working of Syngene International Limited and their management activities. He then gave more information on BIOCON which was started by Ms. Kiran Mazumdar and said that Biocon which was started small has grown into one of most developed companies.
As part of innovative learning methods, a case study competition was conducted by the Marketing Club of the Department of MBA on April 27th, 2018. The objective was to develop both case analysis and presentation skills among the students of MBA. The event was conceived and directed by Prof. Ram Balasubramanian, Senior Faculty. Prof. Jayadeva Prasad, HOD, MBA and the other faculty members of MBA Department also participated in the program.
After the final round, prizes were distributed to the winning and runner up teams by Prof. Ram Balasubramanian and Prof. Jayadeva Prasad.
