20.05.2023   Alumni interactions with Yathish Paladka

Mr. Yathish mentioned that the opportunities are plenty but students need to choose the right path in their career choice and need to start their journey in that direction right from their college days. Modern technologies like AI, IoT, etc. are taking over jobs which human beings used to do once Upon a time. So he requested students to select a carrier in one such industry where the carrier can for long for the next 15 to 20 years and the experience gained in all these years will be useful in making their life for the upcoming years.

20.05.2023   Alumni interactions with Rachana Kotian

Ms. Rachana Kotian mentioned focusing on classroom learning and having a strong fundamental knowledge of the concepts related to the industry in which students have an interest is essential to be successful. She said; to focus on gaining additional knowledge by reading relevant books from the library which will support the students when facing interviews or when performing a job. she highlighted the importance of taking up classroom activities like presentations, participating in GD, responding to questions from faculties, taking up leadership positions, performing activities like talking up Mc, etc. 

17.12.2022   Alumni interactions with Aakash Unnikrishnan, Nehad Nissar Ahmed and Armin Ravoof

Mr. Aakash K Unnikrishnan started the session by mentioning the importance of campus placement. He advised students about the expectation of employers as well as the competition outside. Mr. Nehad Nissar Ahmed spoke about his journey of getting placement. He appealed to students to be fundamentally strong because no organisation expects graduates to know how an industry operates. Ms. Armin Ravoof focused on the usual mistakes that candidate do before attending the interview. She also focused on interview preparation skills like aptitude, group discussion and also preparation for personal interviews.  

09.12.2022   Alumni interactions with Chaithra Kini

Ms. Chaithra Kini told communication is essential to get success in the financial sector. The industry was challenging, and handling customers was a bigger challenge as they come with a different temperaments. She suggested students “like whatever they do” in their careers. Career choice is essential but more than choice if they show hundred per cent commitments in whatever they do, they can be successful. She appealed to students to take up challenges in life which will give them a lot of success as in every profession there will be challenges 

09.12.2022   Alumni interactions with Glevita Serrao

Ms. Glevita Serrao started the session by sharing her experience in college and the importance of subjects in respective specialisations. She discussed about the building Industry contacts in terms of organisational study as well as internship and also the need for the individual portfolio to approach jobs. She appealed to students to build accounts in LinkedIn and Naukri.com. Most of the job postings are available on these sites. Recruiters will be active on these sites because they can track the right people who are required in their organisation. She advised students better to get trained in advanced excel, the latest developments, etc. 

2021-22

28.05.2022   Alumni interactions with Pranamya Jain 

Ms. Pranamya Jain highlighted various opportunities as well as challenges of availing those opportunities. She insisted students to be fundamentally strong as the industry expects students to know only a fundamental aspects and not an expert employee. she touched upon different fields which MBA’s can look into like Marketing, Finance, HR, Banking, etc. She mentioned about opportunities in marketing field like insurance, financial products in MNCs, etc. She in talk continued to say that Students should listen to lectures as they explain everything from basics to latest aspects. When student plan to go to his preferred field, one should put in efforts in that direction on his own. As an institute, it becomes practically impossible to train students for their respective fields. It is students’ responsibility to work hard in their respective directions.

27.05.2022   Alumni interactions with Akshatha Pai

Ms. Akshatha Pai started her session by playing a inspiring on a team work. She mentioned that a team work plays a vital in success of anyone in corporate life. TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) is a manthra for success. An MBA graduate should develop strong leadership abilities in him but need to be a good team player to be successful. She in her address suggested students to check the job profile as job title and job profile do not match. She suggested students to learn all the concepts of the MBA syllabus as the concepts will give lot of insights and has an opportunity to understand the concepts from root and the explanation in the books will make sure that they are good at it. 

29.01.2022   Alumni interactions by Sheraz Sheikh

Mr Sheraz spoke about challenges of industry. He enquired about interest of the students about various jobs they are looking for and also about preparedness for the respective position. He appealed students to prepare well for industry because industry expects a lot from all the candidates. Living up to the expectation of the recruiter is so crucial as the selection or rejection depends on the perception of the recruiter. The first impression makes so difference that majority of recruiters decide to recruit or not in the beginning moments itself. So preparation plays a crucial role.   

He motivated students by saying whoever I prepared, a good position in the industry is awaiting for them. These days industries are looking for quality fresher’s and lot of fresher’s are working at good positions. The session ended with question and answers.   

14.01.2022   Alumni interactions by Sapan Kumar

Mr. Sapan Kumar started the session with a concept “confidence”, an essential skill required in students to get placed in a reputed firm. He focused techniques of developing self confidence and boosted students with few stories and examples. He also focused on grooming, an essential knowledge which every student must know about carrying themselves.

He also touched upon topics like the target companies to get placed so that everyone should have a dream firm so that they get the feeling of belongingness to the organisation, right planning ensures right organization, right position and good payment as well. He mentioned the significance of Resume and also highlighted the important characteristic of resume that is complete detail without mistakes, proper information about experience, exposure, etc. He also suggested to know different roles available in the market for a fresher, different designation for fresher’s, etc.

30.12.2021 Alumni interaction with Sakshi S Poojary

Ms Sakshi took insight from students about their preferences and choice of industry. She appealed to students to make multiple resumes, which are suitable for different industries. She advised students to prepare thoroughly for all the interviews. She also mentioned college is the best place to make mistakes and learn from them they have teachers, mentors, Hod and many others to help them to correct their mistakes. Her talk also focused on listening to class, getting thorough in fundamental concepts, reading books, etc. to develop their knowledge. She suggested students keep checking websites like Naukri to understand the corporate requirement and that student can prepare according to them. The session ended with questions from students.            

2020-21

14.08.2021   Alumni interactions with Shreejaya

Alumni cell of MITE MBA conducts series of alumni interaction sessions. Accordingly the department organised a guest talk on the topic ‘A thought for career’ on 14.08.2021. Ms. Sreejaya, an alumna from the batch 2016-18 who is currently working as HR Generalist, Kreditbee, Bangalore was the guest speaker.


In her talk Ms Sreejaya covered details about her corporate jouney and shared some of the important learning with the students. She highlighted the importance of involving in curricular activities like case study discussions, classroom discussions, panel discussions etc. in order to develop a confident personality to handle situations. Ms. Sreejaya appealed to students to also to participate in co-curricular activities which will help them in developing their communication skills, co-ordination skills, ability to gel with people, decision making skills, ability to handle stress, pressure, etc. 

07.11.2020  Alumni Interactions with Bharath H S 

Mr. Bharath H S has completed his master degree in Business Administration with Human Resource and Marketing specialization. He has completed his bachelor degree in Aerospace and Rocket Engineering. He is currently working as a Senior Business Development Associate at Unacademy. He worked as a sale trainee for Cisco system under the payroll of Adecco Implant till 2018, then he partnered with GRU furniture during September 2018 to July 2019 and later on, he worked for Market Knights Pvt Limited from September 2019.  

Following topics were covered by the speaker:

  Career Options:

The Speaker spoke about the opportunities for freshers and their career development, and how one can nurture his/her skills, gain experience and grow. Further, he stressed on how punctuality plays an important role in one’s career.

  Key Management skills:

Speaker highlighted that leadership, problem solving skill, self-confidence, and time management are the key management skills required to succeed in the Industry.

  Edtech Industry:

Speaker gave a brief introduction to the Edtech industry. He also explained the working of Edtech industry particularly the sales function. He informed how they make use of the technology in generating leads and then convert the leads into customers. At Unacademy, they use a lead generation tool called Lead square, which allocates the leads generated to sales persons. Sales persons then contact the allotted leads and work towards closing the sales.

Towards the end of the event, there were questions from the audience about career options, the guest answered all the queries of the students and the event ended with MC thanking the guests and audience. 

28.09.2020 Alumni Interactions with Roshni Menezes

Alumni cell organized an Alumni Interaction session with Ms. Roshni Menezes from the 2014-16 batch of MITE MBA. She is working with Interactive Broker software Pvt Ltd Mumbai as an HR recruiter.

During the session Roshni shared her experiences in job life and highlighted how it is different from student life. She highlighted the importance of hard work, discipline and focus in life.

She advised the present batch of students to cherish every moment of learning opportunity as the golden period of student life will not come back. She warned that every mistake committed later costs a lot while every mistake committed now is a learning opportunity.

The talk ended with a Q&A session where students raised many questions about career choice and Roshni answered them deftly.

2019-20

12.8.20 Interaction with alumnus Mr. Sapan Kumar

Mr. Sapan Kumar interacted with I & II MBA students online on the topic "Future journey and preparation". In his interaction he emphasized on three major point to consider for preparations for a great career  i.e. journey within oneself, everything that glitters is not gold and  thirdly stories that leaves impact.  He shared his journey to MITE MBA and from MITE MBA to the present position.

30.7.20  Interaction with alumnus Mr. Prajnesh

Mr. Prajnesh, (2017-2019)who is currently working as Associate content analyst at Refinitiv Pvt Ltd. had a fruitful and thought provoking interaction with our MBA students. He emphasized on corporate expectations from MBAs and the realities. He shared his experience both as a student at MITE, MBA and at corporate.


2018-19

5.3.19             Interaction with alumnus Mr. Farhaan 

On 5th March, 2019 Alumni interaction was organized for the students of I and II-year MBA. Mr. Farhan Farooqui, Alumnus, 2014 Batch who has lot of insights about healthcare industry enthusiastically discussed the challenges and opportunities in Healthcare Industry. Various issues like Automation, impact of Artificial Intelligence and Personality Development were discussed in detail. He shared his experiences gained in Omega Hospital and said that all of us should update ourselves to compete in this competitive world and participation in extra-curricular activities would help the students to develop the necessary attitudes and skills. He further added that in order to enhance our confidence, we must make use of every opportunity and must be willing to take up challenges which will lead to new learning experiences. He stressed on serving in one organization for a minimum of 3 to 4 years to get real learning and corporate exposure. 

2017-18

Interaction with Alumnus Mr. Bharat

Mr Bharath is a proud alumnus of our institute. He completed his MBA in the year 2016-2017 and is currently working in CISCO, Bangalore as a strategic accounts manager. On Nov. 25th, 2017, a meet with Mr. Bharath was organized for the I MBA students to make them understand the requirement of various skills such as facing an interview, time management and business etiquette. Mr. Bharath also shared his work experience with the students.

Mr. Bharath emphasized on being employable rather than being a mere management graduate. Business etiquettes play a vital role to be in the market for a longer period of time. Punctuality speaks volumes about the commitment of employees and also enhances their productivity.

Interaction with alumni  Mr. Blany, Mr. Delson, Ms. Lineet and Ms. Disha Lobo

Mr. Blany, Mr. Delson, Ms. Lineet and Ms. Disha Lobo are proud alumni of our institute. They completed their MBA in the year 2015-2016.

They visited the Institute on Dec. 27th, 2017 and spoke to the MBA students. The meet with seniors was arranged for the first years to make them understand the industrial requirements and the various expectations of the industry for fresh management graduates.

Mr. Denson emphasized on the industrial pressure and the competition in the job market and the huge expectation from the graduates. Mr. Blany spoke on the importance of the project/internship they undergo during the graduation and Ms. Disha talked about the corporate work environment and the role of MBA in IT.


                            Talk on Insurance Sector

Mr Praveen and Mr. Denson are proud alumni of the department (2014-16 batch) who are currently working in the Insurance sector. They addressed our MBA students on job opportunities and growth in insurance sector and shared their experiences in the industry. They impressed upon the students to focus on gaining knowledge and developing skills required for job life.
