Buddy play can be a powerful way to teach and practice many of the key peer interaction skills.
A few Buddy Play Tips:
Buddy Play should be about 10 minutes at a time
Buddy Play 1-2X/week is sufficient
Intentionally pair children who are more successful with children who need help.
Examples of pairings:
A child who is good at puzzles with a child who struggles
2 children with strong language skills with one child who needs more language models
2 children who can compromise with a child who is not as flexible
