This Classroom Engagement Model Share Site will not be maintained after June 30, 2025 due to the 'retirement' of MNCoE.
The amount of time you spend with your coachee is determined by the phase of coaching you are in and by your implementation team. Teaching teams who are new to coaching or who haven't met fidelity on the CEM Checklist will need more frequent coaching sessions than teams who are more experienced and have met fidelity.
Remember, one Practice-Based Coaching Cycle includes both a focused observation and a coaching meeting. Your observations should be focused on goals and action plans. Your coaching meeting offers an opportunity to provide feedback and to reflect.
Internal Coaches can access additional coaching resources and webinars on the MNCoE PBC Site by clicking below.
Complete the coaching log after every coaching activity and turn in to your data manager regularly. Your data manager can provide you with graphs to help you understand the amount of time you are spending with each coachee and which coaching strategies you are using most/least often.
Teaching staff should use the STARE to monitor child engagement for children when they have concerns. STAREs can be completed on paper or in a google form. Your data manager can provide you with graphs to use in reviewing patterns of engagement for individual child.
This guide outlines some of the activities and resources that may support you in using Practice-based Coaching (PBC) to implement Classroom Engagement Model (CEM) practices. The monthly activities are suggestions based on the CEM Coaching to Fidelity Plan.
We are all learning from each other! Thanks to the coaches who shared these action plans.
In what ways are these action plans similar to the ones you are working on with your coachees? What is different?
Feel free to use the fillable PDF form to the right to guide a reflective conversation with your coachee/coachee team at the end of a coaching period. Talking through these questions will support you as a coach in gathering feedback on coaching sessions to date, as well as gathering input to inform future coaching efforts.
