2 left: Special Ed and Professional Expectations!!
Welcome to MC2. MC2 is not like most other schools, which is why there is an orientation process to help all learners acclimate.
The MC2 Orientation Learning Opportunity (MOLO) is a personalized project. Each learner can choose to research and present anything in any way. A goal of this project is to help the learner find a passion for learning and build the understanding that information does not only come from teachers and adults. Another goal is to gain an understanding of learners' interests and learning style.
Our goal here at MC2 is to empower our students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to use their unique voices effectively and with integrity to co-create our public global world.
Personalized Project:
Remember, this is designed to support the learner interest. It is intended to be a personal project.
MOLO Reflection
Learners are asked to reflect on a daily basis. At MC2, reflection on learning and the learning process are both vital skills. The MOLO Reflection is an introduction to practicing those skills.
Some sample questions can be:
What did you learn about yourself during the MOLO project?
Are you proud of your efforts and accomplishment ? Why or why not?
What was your favorite part of doing your MOLO? Why?
What changes do you recommend for MOLO? Why?
MOLO Exhibition
There is one final step: the MOLO Exhibition. This presentation is designed to mirror the End of Term Presentation that MC2 learners are expected to do at the end of each term. The MOLO Exhibition is about the experience throughout the orientation process, not just about the project.
Families will be invited to watch the presentation. Advisors attend the presentation and any ally the learner chooses as well.
