Post secondary exploration happens early at MC2. This may mean college, but can also include other options such as military service, gap years, volunteering, and more. Whatever the path an MC2 graduate chooses, our phase by phase requirements are designed to help each student fully prepare for their life beyond MC2.

*Why require a college essay if the student doesn't want to go to college? That is because often students have closed themselves off to the option of college before evaluating it seriously as an option. The college essay is an opportunity for our students to demonstrate clear English writing competencies while also demystifying a common step in the application process. Additionally, alumni may change their minds about college later on, and we want to have helped them over as many hurdles as possible ahead of time.
** often these two checklist items overlap, or can even be reversed, depending on each student
Graduating from MC2 is both flexible and time-consuming, so it helps to have as much advance notice as possible. While graduations can happen any time during the year, most families prefer to graduate sometime closer to the end of an MC2 term, usually in June. Below is a tool used to delineate typical timeline to graduation.
Phase Four students are expected to declare an intent to graduate, usually during the Doc Week prior.
To Declare a Graduation:
have had students apply for formal service opportunities, or just explore independently. Often these have college as the plan after, so the college application process still applies.
Students with an entrepreneurial bent should be actively exploring business ownership and management throughout their internship experiences. Many students have used their GRP as an opportunity to create a business.
When students are seeking a career in the armed services, they reach out to local recruiters and begin the process. Often their recruiters are actively involved in setting deadlines and even sitting in on gateway panels to validate progress. Sometimes the student gives permission for MC2 to communicate directly with the recruiter for regular updates.
