AP European History

This college-level course allows students to study the cultural, economic, political, and social developments that have shaped shaped Europe from c. 1450 to the present analyzing texts, visual sources, and other historical evidence and writing essays expressing historical arguments. The course focuses on these historical periods:

• 1450-1618 | The Renaissance and Age of Exploration

• 1450-1648 | The Age of Reformation and Religious Strife 

• 1648-1815 | Absolutism and Constitutionalism

• 1648-1815 | The Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution

• 1648-1815 | Conflict and Enlightened Based Revolution

• 1815-1914 | The Industrial Revolution and its Effects 

• 1815-1914 |  Political Developments and Conflicts of the 19th Century

• 1914-Present | The World Wars and Interim Period

• 1914-Present | The Cold War and Contemporary Europe

The course will also prepare students to pass the Advanced Placement exam which can reward college credit
