Inclusive Excellence Team:
IMPORTANT DATES:
Personalized Learning Team:
One attribute of personalized learning is voice. Kallick and Zmuda describe voice as "...the student's involvement and engagement in 'the what' and 'the how' of learning early in the learning process."
During instructional rounds this week, many students were given room for their voice to impact learning.
By asking students to interact with the music visually, vocally, and through playing, all students received instruction in a manner to support their individual learning needs.
By creating space for all students to write a question, each of their voices are valued.
By asking students to “Turn and talk” every voice was heard- affirming the value of each student’s thoughts.
By students working with one another, every voice was heard and built upon.
Consider setting a goal this week- every student sharing their voice.
Students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) experience more obstacles in their path to success than the average student. The symptoms of ADHD, such as inability to pay attention, difficulty sitting still, and difficulty controlling impulses, can make it hard for children with this diagnosis to do well in school. Check out these classroom strategies to help support students with ADHD.
