A huge shout out to the team: Darin Little, Carol Lehman, Cindy Donnelly, Katie Post, Dr. Sauer, Andy Schur, Dale Conner, and Ed Protzman. This group is very committed to ensuring our students have the skills of R-Factor to make our school a better place!
Inclusive Excellence Team: Digging into Bias, Microaggressions and Privilege Privately...
Not sure what bias looks like? Feel a little out of the loop? Pop on to one of these short videos !
Remember! The best way to stand up, is simply just to say something like, "I can't know how that feels, but I'm here to support you and listen" or "let me know how I can best support you in what just happened"... that helps students know that they are not alone. Don't forget you can also go to Project Implicit (Harvard University) if you want to dive deeper into your own blind spots!

FAFSA Workshop
The MHS School Counseling Department is excited to announce a wonderful opportunity this fall to help students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A completed FAFSA determines a student's eligibility for need-based financial aid and is an important step in the college process for students. The financial aid department at Miami University has graciously agreed to bring members of their staff to Mason High School to work with individual families to complete the FAFSA. Parents and students will be offered one hour appointments to come into the Harvard Room and complete the FAFSA with the support of a Miami University staff member.
The FAFSA workshop will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY. The last date for this workshop is Thursday, November 14th. The first appointment of the day will begin at 4:00 PM and the last appointment of the day will be 7:00 PM. Please follow the below link to schedule an appointment.
JUNIORS
Counselors will be meeting with juniors on November 13 during connect time in order to help them navigate future plans regardless of their path. We want to encourage all students to look at the path that is most meaningful to them. We will meet with junior parents on the evening of Tuesday, December 3 (more information to follow).
