• Bringing Student Choice to Assessment
• Are your grades an accurate measurement of student learning? Here are some questions to consider while planning. Check out Cult of Pedagogy's blog post for more.
• Building Empathy Maps - Taken from Allison Zmuda: This post discusses Empathy Maps- a great way to disclose the underlying “why” behind students actions, choices & decisions so we can proactively design for their real needs; not based on what our needs as teachers are.
• November Teacher Collaboration Time - Are you looking for colleagues to collaborate with during Tuesday/Thursday Collaboration time? Wanting to share ideas, brainstorm, develop lessons, have meaningful discussions and connect with colleagues? Feel free to add to the wall if you have something that you would like to open up to others for collaboration. Just click on the plus sign under the date in which you are wanting to collaborate, and add the brief description and location.
• Do you want to push yourself to grow and improve? The Never-Ending Conference is a great way to follow your own professional growth trail. You are able to present an area of expertise or attend a session. The opportunity is yours. Don't miss out!

As we enter a holiday week, the Equity Team wants to wish all of our staff a restful Fall Break. If you celebrate Thanksgiving, we hope that you have a joyful time with your family and friends. If you do not celebrate this holiday, we hope that you can take this time to rest and recharge for the sprint to Winter Break. Thanks for all that you are doing to work towards Celebrating Acceptance for our Mason Community!

Personalized Learning Team:

Project Tuning is a cool process where participants create a driving question. Then, other people give feedback on how one's work matches up on the driving question. It's used a lot in Project Based Learnring. This past week, PL cohort teachers particpated in a feedback lab that used a project tuning process. They got lots of feedback from other teachers on their personalized learning lesson designs.

• You can use Project Tuning tools in your own classroom, too.
• Our teachers used this process here.
• That process was based on the work of many others. You can find the base protocol that we modifed here.

If you're interested in learning how to do project tuning with your students, reach out to any cohort member that participated in the feedback labs or any Learning Experience Designers. We're all there to help!
