Weekly Update - 5/14/24

The NYS Assessments are officially behind us and our 8th graders were able to enjoy some time at the AKG Art Museum.  Thank you Mr. Bruso for applying for the grant that made this trip possible.

On Tuesday, 5/14 the faculty, staff and students participated in an off-site evacuation drill.  We all left the middle school and walked to our off campus evacuation site, took attendance and walked back.  The students did a great job and some assisted students with mobility restrictions, showing compassion and team work.  I very proud of our students here at Maryvale Middle School.

As we approach the end of the year, many of our students will be attending various field trips.  Many of our 8th graders will also be departing for Washington, DC on Wednesday, 5/14.  This is an exciting, fun and educational 4-day trip to our nation's capital.  Seventh grade is organizing a trip to Sky High, a ropes course at Holiday Valley and the sixth graders have a choice of three different trips, including the Rochester Science Museum, the AKG Art Museum and Canal Side.  These trips all have educational value and help build character in our students.
