The aim of Elective History is to enable students to acquire the historical skills, knowledge and understanding, and values and attitudes essential to an appreciation of the past and to prepare students for informed and active citizenship in a changing world.

The course is taught through a mix of group work, project-based learning, teacher-directed learning and ICT.
There is the opportunity to participate in excursions where relevant. Past excursions have included Melbourne, Tasmania and Italy

Most assessments are group assessments, and there are many opportunities for creative responses to tasks including a range of ICT and performative options.
