You will learn to improve yourself as a musician through studying topics such as Art Music of the 20th and 21st Centuries, Music for Small Ensembles, Australian Music and other projects.
You will have the opportunity to learn music that you are interested in and get to play instruments often.
You will learn through a variety of ways including hands on practical activities, working in groups, and completing website work.
It's ok if you're not a master of your instrument yet - but you need to be willing to come into class and try and learn to play an instrument.
You will be assessed on playing your instrument, writing music, and in your listening skills.
There will be a variety of group and individual tasks.
In music you will have the opportunity to write your own music. We will experiment with different forms of technology when we do this. Check out the composition below created in Soundtrap, all the sounds you hear are every day sounds you can hear around you.
You will have the opportunity to perform in a variety of styles on your instrument both as a soloist and as part of a group.
You will develop listening skills that will help you understand more about the music you listen to,
this also helps you become a better performer and composer.
