2Maple    Learning Update

Central idea: Exploring identity can develop a sense of belonging.

This week the children enjoyed focusing on their own identity. They discussed and wrote their own fact files based on their likes, dislikes and things they can and cannot do. For all of the children, this was also a time to celebrate "what makes me, me." 

We then moved into our second line of inquiry where we started looking at what a community is. The children enjoyed looking at what communities they belonged to. 

During reading rainbows we have been reading 'Croc and Bird.' This has inspired the children's writing where they have been writing in role, describing the setting and sequencing the story in preparation to write their own.
