Oak Learning Update

Central idea: People communicate to share knowledge and experiences.

Mr Reynolds and I are so proud at how quickly Team Oak has settled back into systems and routines following the half term break.

At the beginning of the week we reflected on our learning last half term. Together, we spoke about what we enjoyed most and what we learnt. It was a joy to see such young learners speaking so articulately about previous experiences and the new skills and knowledge they have learnt along the way.

We have also spent time this week discussing the significance of Remembrance Day. Again, we have been proud of the children's mature attitude when discussing this. When speaking about why we wear a poppy, Hudson was quick to say: "It's to say thank you to the soldiers for keeping us safe!" Noah said: "The soldiers were brave and they made our world happy."

I am looking forward to our new Transdisciplinary theme unfold and I look forward to sharing further learning updates with you.

We have explored new media and materials to make poppies for our Remembrance walk which was very exciting. Team Oak enjoyed moulding, squeezing and squashing the clay into delicate flowers.

Finally, this week we welcomed Miss Rogerson into our team. She is a third year student studying Primary Education. She has already built positive relationships with the class and we look forward to her working with us over the year.
