4Chestnut Learning Update

Central idea: Cultural identity could be expressed through creativity.

This week we have immersed ourselves in war poetry. We have looked at the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae in our reading comprehension and really thought about the imagery and meaning behind his words. We have also written our own Remembrance poetry. These pieces are being displayed in the Remembrance Day 'Poppy Walk' along with some poppies which we made in art. We also used water colours to recreate poppies on top of a copy of 'In Flanders Fields'. In maths, we finished off looking at addition and subtraction methods and began focusing on area.
