Principal's Message

11th November is always an incredibly poignant day. We are proud that at Marden Primary Academy, we commemorate and remember the fallen in both World Wars and conflicts since. We are proud that our very own Mr Cosgrove was able to share his experiences of war and how important this day is to those who have served our great nation and for their loved ones. We are proud that our children have devoted this week's learning to Remembrance day. We are proud of our choir learning a quintessentially English song, Jerusalem, which emboldens our patriotism. We are proud of our families who joined us in our moment of reflection.

We have a rich history here in the village of Marden with so many servicemen losing their lives in past conflicts, commemorated in the memorial at the church. I was privileged this week to deliver a whole school assembly, which exemplified this rich history. Looking through our archives we found children who joined Marden (girls and boys separately of course) from 1914 through to 1918. How life would have been like at this time for the children of Marden is important to remember. Their loved ones would undoubtedly have been affected by the war and we are proud to keep that memory and pride alive.

Remembrance @ Marden

On Thursday 10th November, KS2 visited the church to take part in a service of Remembrance. The children were able to share some of the fantastic war-inspired work that they had created this week. We heard diary entries and letters home from the trenches and war poetry. Well done to all the children who so confidently shared their work.

On Friday 11th November parents and carers were invited to our Poppy Walk where they were able to view all of the fantastic written work and pieces of art that had been produced this week. It makes us so proud to see what the children are able to achieve and a special thanks must go to our teachers and support staff for all of their hard work too.

Girls aged from 5-11 and any ability are welcome. The training sessions will take place on Fridays' afternoons from 5:30 until 6:30 at Cranbrook School's hall and Saturdays' mornings between 9:00 and 10:00 at the Rammell Field in Cranbrook.

National Online Safety

FIFA 23, like its many predecessors, is a massively popular football simulator featuring lifelike recreations of thousands of real-world players, drawn from teams around the globe. While the gameplay is subtly improved year on year, the publisher EA’s focus remains firmly on FIFA Ultimate Team – a mode in the game that can tempt players of all ages to spend actual money on recruiting better players for their side. With each new release of FIFA comes a host of new players to unlock – meaning that youngsters can feel pressured to keep buying to compete with their friends.
