3Beech Learning Update

Central idea: Expression can be influenced by our values.

We began the week by reflecting on our last inquiry from Module 1. The children worked together to select images and pieces of work they wanted on our class suite.

This week we have based lots of our learning on Remembrance Day. We looked at a key text called 'Dear Jelly' in Guided Reading and the children thoroughly enjoyed reading and answering questions based on real letters it entails.

The children then produced their own letters home, imagining they were a solider at war, thinking about description and their senses. Some of them were lucky enough to read these at our remembrance day church service on Thursday.

In maths we focused on addition and subtraction, especially exchanging. Many of the children were able to challenge themselves to apply this to word problems.
