In order for a student to leave the building during the school day, a parent/guardian must first submit an absence request. Whenever possible, we encourage you to enter your child's absence into Skyward Family Access to expedite the process.
ATTENDANCE QUICK FACTS
All students are required by law to be in attendance at school each day that school is officially in session.
All student absences must be excused by a parent/guardian.
Absences can be entered into Skyward Family Access anytime, anywhere, from the app or web.
Parents may excuse their child for up to 10 days in a school year.
After 10 days, third party documentation (ex. medical note) is required to be excused.
Habitual Truancy: Part or all of 5 days with an unexcused absence.
MAKE UP WORK
All students with excused absences shall be given the opportunity to make up work/exams missed in accordance with the following guidelines:
It is the student’s responsibility to contact his or her teacher(s) following an absence from school.
Students with unexcused absences shall be given the opportunity to make up exams. Refer to the grading rubric for responsibilities in your class.
Projects or assignments with previously established due dates must be submitted on the day of return, unless arrangements are made with the teacher.
Any student out for an extended period of time should make attempts to contact the school in order to stay on top of his/her coursework. Please meet with your counselor for assistance for extended medical leave.
