Week Beginning 4th July 2022
We continued with our learning about mini beasts and focussed on making different ones like caterpillars, snails and bees to mention a few. We also learnt about bees and how they make honey so some of us made and ate honey sandwiches. The children said " it is very sweet". "I like it". We had other children say " I don't like honey because of the wax that covered the honey is not good" They were able to give reasons why they did not like honey .This showed that they listened and understood the process involed in making honey. We used hexagons to make patterns, counted the number of mini beasts we could see. We even went on a mini beast hunt in our outdoor area and in our mud kitchen we made sweet treats for the adults in school. Finally we did some independent writing about bees.

We are still looking at mini beasts and we explored where they are found in our roleplay area and matched the minibeasts that we found to their name cards. We used the Geoboards to try an make different mini beasts but we found it easier to make different shapes. While in the sandpit we make a huge mountain and some of use wanted to pose with it so we took a picture.
