Our relationships fiesta
This week in Jigsaw we started a new topic – ‘Relationships’. We looked at good touches and bad touches (touches we like and touches we don’t like. Children wrote down what good touches might be such as touches from our parents and siblings. We acknowledged that we sometimes might not like a touch from someone, but it is important that we let that person know in a kind and polite way.

Making a Thaunatrope
This week during our computing session we made thaumatropes as an introduction to stop animation. Children got the opportunity to see how still images, when moved at certain pace, can look like a moving object. Moving forward children will make a stop animaiton video based on our curriculum topic 'Making an environmental impact.'

Making simple pizzas
This week Year 2 have made simple pizzas as part of their English. They used bread as their base and tomato puree to follow. Then they added some grated cheddar cheese and added on their selection of vegetarian toppings. The simple pizzas then went into the oven and were heated. Children then had the opportunity to taste what they had made. Moving forward children will write a set of instructions so that you can make your own simple pizza at home.

George and the Dragon
This week we have started a new book for English: 'George and the Dragon'. We are currently in the middle of our sentence stacking lessons, where the children have been coming up with some rich vocabulary to write their own version of the story. Following this, children will eventually write their own alternative endings to story as their independent writing. Have a look at some examples of the children's work.
Maths day
26.05.2022
This week it was Maths day on Monday. The children came dressed up in maths costumes and the whole day was orientated around Maths. The started with a parade, which was then followed on with a Maths investigation. After this we decided to make a human graph based on the ice-cream flavours that we enjoy the most. There were also quizzes and puzzles that the children participated in.
