FirE Extinguisher
Part 1: Fire Extinguisher Use at MacEwan mêskanâs course
For the online (Part 1) training, go to mêskanâs and enroll yourself in the Fire Extinguisher Use at MacEwan course.
This course will provide individuals with the knowledge necessary to evaluate and approach fires, and effectively use a fire extinguisher. Individuals will also learn about classes of fires and types of fire extinguishers. Guidance on the proactive elimination of fire hazards will also be covered.
Part 2: Fire Extinguisher Hands-On training
Once the Fire Extinguisher Use at MacEwan mêskanâs course has been successfully completed, individuals need to register themselves in MacewanLife, within 90 days, to complete the hands-on training. The hands-on training portion is designed to put the knowledge gained in this course into practice so that each individual has the experience necessary to competently use a hand-operated fire extinguisher in the event of an emergency.
This Fire Extinguisher Hands-On training utilizes LED-driven digital flames and a laser training extinguisher to provide a dynamic and realistic simulation for trainees. The system can sense if the trainee is using the correct extinguisher, aiming, and sweeping correctly, and if they are an effective distance from the base of the fire. This ensures trainees are prepared in case of a real fire emergency.
