Work Alone
work alone program
What is working alone?
A worker is considered to be working alone if they work alone at a worksite and where assistance is not readily available.
What do I need to do as a worker?
Complete the MacEwan Hazard Assessment and Control Report to identify existing or potential health and safety hazards in the workplace associated with working alone.
Implement health and safety controls to eliminate, or if elimination is not reasonably practicable, minimize the risk to yourself from the identified hazards.
Ensure that there is an effective way of communicating with your employer, immediate supervisor or another designated person (i.e., Campus Security Services) in case of an emergency situation.
Ensure that contact with you is possible at regular intervals appropriate to the hazards associated with the work.
Ensure that you have the training required to perform the job/activity safely.
Site Access and Reporting (Security Services)
