Stowe High School

Week in Review

“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

June 4, 2021

June has arrived and our school year is winding down. Students have two more in-person class days next week and then they are on to their summer activities. Students who need more time to complete their work will have an opportunity to work with their teachers on Wednesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 10 in-person. As we prepare for the end-of-year celebration of graduation and finish classes, we are also completing our hiring process. We are excited to introduce the following new members of our Stowe High School team.

Tim Albertson- Tim will be our new athletic and activities director. Tim comes to us with a strong background in athletics as a coach and assistant to director work. He has degrees in sports management and athletic administration. He has been a coach for baseball and football teams, led various community events and fundraisers and developed/facilitated a leadership program for student leaders such as team captains.

Jenna Dufford- Jenna will be our new science teacher. Jenna has been teaching various science classes in VT high schools such as Biology, Earth Science, and Environmental Applications. She has degrees in Science Curriculum and Instruction as well as Nutrition and Food Sciences. Jenna loves the outdoors and enjoys rock climbing and snowboarding.

Patrick Kantlehner- Patrick will be our new Physical Education/Health teacher. Patrick has been a lead teacher for a Health and Physical Education program in Massachusetts for a number of years. He has degrees in Health Science and Educational Leadership. He loves the outdoors and has served as an advisor for various clubs and teams over the years.

Brendan Mold- Brendan will be our new Chinese teacher. Brendan has been a Chinese teacher and translator for Lyndon Institute and Lyndon Town Schools for a number of years. He has traveled to China with students and lived there as well. He has a Masters degree in teaching Chinese and loves incorporating cooking and music into his classes.

Our interview teams have been fantastic and we are so grateful to all the students that participated in the interview process and mini-lessons led by our candidates. We are happy to have strong additions to our wonderful faculty and staff.

As a reminder, please be sure your student completes the Health Screening Form before arriving at school. Our health screening greeters will continue to meet students outside and check in with them to ensure the screening questionnaire has been completed and they are feeling well. We can complete the form with your students if they forget or need assistance.
