Performance Standards for 3rd & 4th Grades
By the end of 4th Grade at a Evergreen Lutheran associated school, each student will:
Empowered Learner:
- Articulate and set personal learning goals for using technology in their personal learning. (1a)
- Create a personal learning network via digital tools with peers. (1b)
- Engage experts to provide authentic feedback to solve problems. (1c)
- Maintain and use digital technology correctly and effectively. (1d)
- Solve common problems associated with digital technology. (1d)
Digital Citizen:
- Understand that a digital footprint is permanent. (2a)
- Demonstrate the creation of a Christ-centered digital identity while living in a sinful world. (2a)
- Identify proper balance of time commitments between educational technology usage and social use of technology. (2b)
- Understand plagiarism, copyright and fair use of all information. (2b)
- Demonstrate effective Christ-centered techniques to combat cyberbullying. (2b)
- Cite sources when using others' intellectual property. (2c)
- Identify methods to protect students personal data online. (2d)
- Identify positive and negative data-collection technology. (2d)
Knowledge Constructor:
- Research information using multiple sources and evaluate for accuracy, credibility and relevance. (3a, 3b)
- Organize researched information using online bookmarking and notetaking tools. (3a)
- Create a collection of artifacts using multiple platforms such as paper, project, presentation, video, or verbal demonstration. (3c)
- Explore a real-world issue or problem and develop solutions to the issue or problem. (3d)
Innovative Designer:
- Develop, test and refine a prototype of a new product or an improvement to a current product. (4a, 4c, 6c)
- Explore 2D and 3D software to create products. (4b)
- Use brainstorming software to plan the design process of a product. (4b)
Computational Thinker:
- Collect, organize and analyze data using digital tools. (5b)
- Break down a problem into parts and methods to solve the problem. (5c)
- Create a series of ordered steps using programming code. (5d)
Creative Communicator:
- Explore video editing tools and techniques. (6a)
- Organize ideas, design, and produce a multimedia presentation. (6a)
- Practice skills using word processing and spreadsheets. (6a)
- Maintain a blog. (6a)
- Create original or remix a Christ-centered song or hymn. (6b)

Global Collaborator:
- Engage in multi-player video games to connect with other students. (7a)
- Communicate with students from other cultures to broaden learning and understanding. (7b)

- Explore another culture using a virtual field trip. (7d)
- Plan and carry out a action project using digital tools. (7d)
