9th Annual Walk-A-Thon May 3, 2024

WHAT: This year's Walk-A-Thon continues the Field of

Dreams fundraising campaign. Learning Tree is a 501 (c)(3).

Donations will be accepted until the goal is reached. In

addition to the field projects, a portion of the proceeds goes

towards fundraising costs and to replenish the Home &

School and Athletic funds.

WHO: for students, friends & families of LTES. Come walk with

Pastor Art (95) & his sweet wife, Vivian (94) for heart health!

WHEN: Friday, May 3, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 1 PM (Lunch is served

to all participants at 11:30AM)

WHERE: Lakeshore track at 70 Crescent St. in Dalton, GA

GOAL: $100,000 - "If we ask anything according to God's will, He

hears us. And if we know that He hears us-whatever we ask-

we know that we have what we asked of Him." I John 5:14-15.

WHY: To build a FIELD of dreams where children and families can

make memories and grow a life-long love for connection and

physical activity to promote healthy hearts--socially,

spiritually, and physically.

HOW: We use an easy web-based fundraising system (PledgeStar)

that makes it simple to request pledges from family, friends

and businesses, and for them to make secure credit card

donations online. Please register now to help the Field of

Dreams come true! Note: Invitations may also be hand-

delivered or mailed.

Using your COMPUTER'S browser:

Go to http://pledgestar.com/learningtree You may also access pledgestar and walkathon info from www.learningtreeschool.org
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit” If you registered last year, be sure to use the same email address to register this year in order to pull up last year’s donors.
Follow the instructions on-screen to register Walker(s) and add family and friends

Using your PHONE OR TABLET:

Go to your device’s App Store and search for "PledgeStar" to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/learningtree/downloadapp.html
On the home screen enter your event code: “learningtree” to locate your event
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
Follow the instructions on-screen to register Walker(s) and add family and friends

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE REGISTER ON PLEDGESTAR?

When you finish registering, the system lets you email/text pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make check or secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. It will even send them a thank you email and receipt when they donate! Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help with PledgeStar.

NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COMPUTER AND/OR EMAIL ADDRESS: All Learning Tree students can use their school email address to register your family account. Note: all school emails are the first two letters of the first name and their entire last name, followed by @learningtreeschool.org. For example, the principal's email is twbrown@learningtreeschool.org. If needed, teachers can help your child register at school using school email address. Please let us know if you need help.

GOING DOOR-TO-DOOR TO HAND DELIVER INVITATIONS IS ALSO AN OPTION!

If your family does not have an email account, or if your family does not have a computer or internet access, or would prefer to mail or hand deliver your pledge requests, you can fill out and use the “Tracking Form for Letter Mailing and Hand-Delivery”. Pledge letters are available in English and Spanish in the school office and on our website www.learningtreeschool.org
If you are hand delivering letters, never go to a stranger’s house and never go door-to-door after dark!
All checks should be made out to Learning Tree Elementary School.

HOW WILL WE RAISE THIS MUCH MONEY?

It's a big project! Fortunately, we have a BIG God! We will do our part (invite others to donate), and He will do His (raise the funds)! God tells us, "We have not because we ask not" (James 4:2) and that "If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him" (I John 5:14-15). This is God's project, and He will bless as we do our part and He does His!

A NOTE ABOUT LEARNING TREE'S CONSTITUENT CHURCH

We are so thankful and blessed that our Dalton Adventist Church family is extremely supportive of Learning Tree and gives generously to our school on a monthly basis. Our school will give our church family the opportunity to donate through announcements in the church bulletin, but if you are related to someone, or if they are good friends of your family, or they request to sponsor you, go ahead and invite them!
